Aweber Free Beginners
What is Aweber?
It is email marketing software that helps you categorize your contacts and has basic automation that will send trigger emails to your contacts when they sign up for the list. Other features include a wide range of models, an autoresponder, reports and split A/B testing.

Design with Canva: Canva is a graphic design platform that uses a drag-and-drop system. AWeber lets you create images with Canva because they’re a great way to get an emotional response from your audience. People are more attracted to visual content. A picture in your email campaign has a chance to grab the attention of your contacts more than just plain text.
Inventory Management Tools: AWeber allows you to aggregate, manage and segment your customers based on different tasks. You can see who opened the emails, what links they clicked, how much revenue they received and how many people unsubscribed.
Variety of Templates: AWeber offers over 700 HTML newsletter templates. Some models are a bit outdated, but with a few tweaks, you can create a model that fits the aesthetic of your brand. If for some reason you don’t like any of these, AWeber lets you import HTML templates.
RSS-to-Email Templates: Aweber has a feature called “blog posting” that allows you to send your most recent or previously written blogs to your customers. Unfortunately, they don’t have a comprehensive range of templates to choose from when using an RSS feed.
I decided to try out this feature to see how it works and if it is easy to use. To compose a broadcast message, go to the Messages section on the left and select Broadcast.
Create broadcast message
There you have 3 options: 1) drag-and-drop email generator, 2) plain text messaging, and 3) HTML editor. I used the drag-and-drop editor for this review.
Drag and drop broadcast message editor
You can paste your subject line in the top left corner after clicking on the drag and drop option.
Include your subject line
After you’ve created your subject line, it’s time to select and edit your template. Select the model on the right. You can find many templates out there, but I chose the newsletter template for this review.
For the streaming drag-and-drop editor, all items are on the left.
To edit a row, select the row you want to adjust and use the tools on the right to edit the row however you want.
Broadcast line editor
Once you are done you can “Preview and Test” and when you are satisfied you can click on “Save and Exit”.
Record your broadcast message
On the last screen, you have the option to preview the email, delete the broadcast, copy it to your draft, or send yourself a test broadcast to check the email’s spam score.
When you’re happy with your show, the way to send it is to schedule it to be shipped at a time that’s convenient for you.
Unsubscription Fees: If you’re not careful, AWeber prices can go up without you even knowing it. AWeber will bill you for the number of customers you have and will continue to bill you for those customers until you remove the contact information from the system.
Keyword Violation – An online review found that AWeber has terminated your account due to a keyword violation. As they go through the Aweber deal, they mention that you are not allowed to use words that sound like Aweber. So that’s something to be seen.
Poor Delivery Rate: AWeber has a delivery rate of 6%, which means there is a high chance that your emails will reach your spam folder. There are ways to increase your delivery rates by retaining customers and eliminating those who never open your email. But even if you do your best to comply with the rules, your email may end up in a different location than your subscriber’s inbox.
Who is Aweber for?
If you want full reports, AWeber does well in this area. They don’t offer Google Analytics integration, but they do provide a variety of other reports including email opened, link clicks, and sales generated. You can also see how many new customers have been added and how they have been acquired.
If You Need Your Phone Support: Many online reviews have liked Aweber’s support, saying that they can get in touch with you quickly and resolve a problem with ease. One advantage is that you can contact them via phone, email or live chat.
When looking for autoresponders, companies don’t always have time to answer emails in person. AWeber allows you to configure auto-reply to automatically respond when someone sends a message requesting information.
